- How long does Luminophore glow?
- The longer that a Luminophore-finished surface is exposed to light, the longer and brighter it will glow: in the dark, it will glow approximately 8 hours. In the dark the brightness decreases: it glows very brightly for the fist 20 minutes, following which the brightness decreases by 30-40%, approximately 10% each hour. Luminophore can charge and glow more brightly, though, from heating or braking (static).
- How long is the guarantee on the material?
- It depends on the quality of the application work, but in all circumstances, it is years.
- How long does the material retain its ability to accumulate light and glow?
- Luminophore retains these properties around 200 years.
- How do I apply Luminophore?
- The application of the powder combined with the medium (lacquer) depends on the surface- by brush, roller, submersion, spray (by air-brush).
- How long does it take to dry?
- A few hours if left to dry on its own accord, although it is best to dry it in a drying room (4 hours).
- Is it essential to apply Luminophore to a white base?
- It is best to do so, as Luminophore applied to a white background possesses the highest light output. As an example, luminosity on a black background will be almost invisible, as the colour black overwhelms the glow.
- If I paint my car with Luminophore, is it possible that I could have problems with the State Road Traffic Safety Inspection?
- There are no highway traffic regulations in Russia that forbid this.
- Does Luminophore have certification?
- Yes, a material safety data sheet (MSDS) and a sanitary and a epidemiological inspection report (Hygiene Certificate).
- How long have you been working?
- The project was launched in May 2008. The two months prior to this were dedicated to production setup and obtaining documents. Following this, we began advertising and merchandizing on the mass market.
- What colours is the powder available in?
- Green is the standard colour, but light blue is also available by request.
- Do wheel rims painted with your product glow in city lighting at night, or only in complete darkness?
- The glow is always visible even under light, provided it is charged by a more powerful light source. In principle, darkness is not necessary. The glow is visible under changes in light temperature. Concerning city lighting at night, the glow will be visible if:
- the surface was previously exposed to a bright source, such as 1 meter from a mercury arc lamp, or a Wood’s lamp (“black light”);
- the car is lit by street lights, but the wheel rims are in shadow;
- if braking occurs before inspection (static and heat build-up also lead to luminescence).
